Join us on this National Day of Observance as we commemorate the 77th anniversary of the Bombing of Darwin.
On 19 February 1942, shortly before 10am, enemy forces launched air raids on Darwin. The attacks left hundreds of servicemen and civilians dead, and countless others injured.
Together as a city and a nation, we pay tribute to the men and women who were there – those who courageously defended our country, those who selflessly helped others, those who dealt with the aftermath, and of course, those who lost their lives.
The service begins at 9.30 am at the Cenotaph, The Esplanade and includes a vintage aircraft flyover, Australian Army Band Darwin, Darwin Chorale and Military Wives Choir and a re-enactment of events of the day.
